Clean India Drive

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started 'Clean India Campaign' or 'Swach Bharat  Abhiyaan'.  Modi has started  national level campaign to clean India on 2nd October, 2014 .  Modi has chosen this day as this day is celebrated as the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, our National father. Mahatma Gandhi had the vision of clean India.

At the event held at his Race Course residence, Modi also made a fervent appeal to all the NDA MPs to ensure the success of his ambitious projects like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

He had elaborated discussion on many issues which the government has brought to the nation. He focused mainly on cleanliness and how a MP, celebrities and common man of India  can make a change in India.
Narendra Modi called upon celebrities to campaign for the cause including Hritik Roshan, Nagarjuna, Salman Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, Shashi Tharoor, Kamal Hassan, Priyanka Chopra, entire team of the popular serial ‘Tarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma’, Baba Ramdev, Mridula Sinha, Amir Khan, Anil Ambani so that the campaign can gain momentum.

He asked for building a chain of campaign where every person will urge another nine persons to try and implement the campaign of cleanliness. PM took oath of providing free labour of 100 hours per year or 2 hours per week towards cleanliness and also not to litter or allow any other person litter.  Modi delegated this to celebrities as they are the role models for millions of people. If celebrities take initiative in campaign then definitely it can lead to the mass momentum.

Modi stressed that campaign will never reach its peak if Indians consider it as a government programme only. It should be a mass movement, where people have to change their mindset first and pledge to keep India clean. Modi has a dream that India will be clean by 2029... Read More
