Intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer science to develop
intelligent machines that can perceives their surroundings and takes
steps to maximize its chances of success. These intelligent machines
developed on the algorithms that are based on the step-by-step reasoning
that humans use while solving puzzles or making any logical deductions.
It has several areas of application which are as follows:
Information technology
Indians can have computers that can understand human language and can even play games. There are computers that can mimic the brain of the human to become capable of self-learning and solving various problems autonomously. For example there is an Expert System Compass which checks error messages in telephone exchange derived from the self test routines, look for open circuits, reduces the time of operation of components etc. To find the cause of a switch problem, it looks at a series of such messages and then uses its expertise to give solutions.
There are humanoids such as Eliza which can identify problems by having conversations with users, and can solve problems within few seconds. The other example is of Mycin which mimics doctor to diagnose medical problems and give solutions accordingly.

There is well known imaging company “Tonbo Imaging Pvt. Ltd” which is set up in Bangalore. It builds advanced intelligent electro optical systems for land, naval and air applications. It develops and deploys high-level imaging and sensor systems to sense, understand and control complex environments.
Law and order
AI help in fighting against crime by prognosticating the possibilities of a person committing a crime, based on jail records. IBM India has deployed these analytics for the police departments of New York and Chicago and is now working with an Indian state police agency.
Advertising and Consumer Goods
AI cameras, embedded on digital signboards, automatically analyze a person’s facial expressions, eye gaze, and body language to develop insights about customer behavior.
People can have intelligent AC’s which will adjust cooling according to the weather and number of people, Refrigerator which modify the temperature as per the temperature outside.

India has developed a lot in the education field but unfortunately after 67 years of independence, there are millions of students remain uneducated because they are unable to attend school may be because of the reason that schools are very far from their area or their financial condition does not permit them to attend school. For them, AI can be a boon as they can use the artificial technology machine, which can recognize their handwriting and also keep recording the steps taken by them to solve their problems, and alerts their tutor when they got stuck.
