Global warming is bringing climatic change

Global warming is the condition when there is an increase in the surface temperature of the Earth due to Greenhouse effect.

What is Greenhouse effect?

Greenhouse effect means solar radiation that reaches the Earth's atmosphere. Around 1/3 of the solar energy that reaches the top of Earth’s atmosphere is reflected directly back to the space. The remaining 2/3 is absorbed by the ozone layer (O3) layer surrounding the earth surface, keeping the Earth warm.

There is a presence of greenhouse gases such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone trap the energy to sustain life. However with the increase in air pollution caused due to human activities such as vehicular pollution, emission from factories & industries, burning fossil fuels, agriculture are increasing the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. These harmful gases tend to trap extra heat, and causing the earth's temperature to rise.

Scientists are greatly concerned about the increasing pollution that in turn increase the temperature and thus bring the climatic change.

Consequences of Green House Effect

• Depletion of ozone layer
• Rising temperature
• Melting ice
• Rising seas
• Furious storms
• Deforestation
• Ocean acidification
• Smog pollution
• Sea level rise
• Forest fires
• Severe drought

Dengue is the infectious disease that is caused by dengue virus. This virus is transmitted by the bite from the Aedes aegypti female mosquito. It usually bites during a daytime, i.e., after sunrise and before sunset. This mosquito can bite at any place whether inside or outside of the home.
It is estimated that around 50-100 million people get infected by Dengue virus per year worldwide.
These mosquitoes generally breed in water containers and rarely fly more than 200 meters from the breeding site. It has been researched that these mosquitos do not breed in creeks, swamps, pools or other bodies of water.

  • The increase in the urban population that led to more sites for mosquitoes to develop.
  • International travelers who are travelling from the areas where dengue already spread to the areas that are not infected by dengue virus.
  • Environmental Changes that led Aedes mosquitoes to survive in the winter months.
How Dengue spread?
Dengue does not spread either of human interaction or mosquito bite alone, but it spread with the help of both the mosquito and the human. Initially, female Aedes bites an individual who has been infected with a dengue virus, the mosquito thus become a carrier of the virus. 14. It is difficult for the people in insignificant kingdom to remain happy. One cannot find happiness from its wicked friend. Husband cannot find happiness in the company of the bad wife.

15. It is advisable to learn a thing from a lion, crane, three from an ass, four from a cock, five from a crow, and six from a dog.

CHANAKYA NITISHASTRA - CHAPTER FIVE

1. Agni is considered as worshipable person for the twice born people and the Brahman for the other castes people. Similarly the husband for the wife and the guest who comes for the lunch.
2. As the Gold is tested in four ways such as rubbing, cutting, heating and beating similarly the man should be tested by these four things such as his renunciation, behavior, traits and his actions.
3. A thing may be fearful as long as it has not overtaken you, but once it has come upon you, try to overcome without hesitation.
4. Though the mother has given birth to the babies under the same stars, they are not same as the thousand fruits of the Badari tree.
5. Persons who are clear in their dealings do not like to hold an office of profit, he who desires nothing does not care for bodily decoration, he who is partially educated cannot speak in concurrence and he who speaks out clearly cannot deceive anyone.
6. Foolish envy the knowledgeable people similarly poor men are envious of the rich, prostitute women are jealous of pure women, and ugly ladies are envious of beautiful ladies.
7. Study is ruined by lethargic approach, money is lost when given to others on trust, a farmer who sows his seed sparingly is ruined, and an army is lost without the commander.
8. Learning can be retained when it is put into practice, prestige of the family can be maintained through good behavior, and recognition to a respectable person is given by his outstanding qualities.
9. Religion is preserved by wealth, knowledge by meticulous practice, a king by appeasing words, and a home by obedient housewife.
10. Those who curse vedic wisdom, who make mockery of the life style recommended in the Shastra, and who laugh at men of peaceful temperament can be in grief unnecessarily.
11. Charity can puts an end to poverty, virtuous conduct to misery, carefulness to ignorance, and careful analysis to fear.
12. No disease is as destructive as lust, no rival like infatuation, no fire like anger, and no happiness like divine knowledge.
13. A man come on the earth alone and goes from there alone. He experiences consequences of his actions alone no matter whether it is good or bad and at the end he goes to hell or the heaven alone.
14. Heaven is like a straw to the person who has the knowledge of spiritual life so is life to a courageous man; a woman to the man who has subdued his senses; and the universe to the person who is without attachment for the world.
15. Learning is like a companion on the journey; a wife in the house; medicine in sickness; and religious values only associated after death.
16. Rainwater for the sea is useless so is food for one who has already eaten, gift to the wealthy person is in vain and a burning lamp during the morning hours is useless.
17. No water can be compared to rainwater; no strength like one's own strength; no light like that of the eyesight; and no riches more cherished than food grain.
18. The poor wish for treasures; animals for the speech; men wish for heaven; and divine persons for salvation.
19. The power of truth is supporting the Earth, it is the power of truth that makes the sunshine and blow the wind and thus indeed all things rest upon truth.
20. The Goddess of wealth is not stable, and so is the life breath. The duration of life is not certain, and the place of residence is uncertain, but in all this inconsistent world religious values alone is immovable... Read More

Should Muslim Girls wear a veil?

I had a conversation with one Muslim girl whose name was Aliya, in the metro that was going towards Lajpat Nagar in Delhi, India.

Aliya was wearing a Veil / Burka. I asked her the reason why she was wearing Burkha then she replied that many Muslim girls were wearing Burkha but many were not wearing it. All depends upon their personal feelings, circumstances and upbringing.

Aliya further told me about the benefits she could achieve by wearing Burkha

• Get respected by males as they could easily understand that she was not that kind girl with whom they could go out for dates in clubs or pubs. Many times males, even the Non Muslim males open door for her and cleared the path for her and provide any assistance if required.

• Reminded her of duties such as that she should become a better person with a good behavior attitude. She would keep her rage under control and would like to be kind and forgiving, in complicated or tricky situations.

• Relieved when fully covered as she was protected from the lustful eyes of some hilarious males who make unneccery comments on the girls.

Aliya said that she was a journalist residing in the USA where Burkha never came in the way of her success, but instead made her more comfortable as she interacted in society and in her community.

She hurriedly ended her conversation by smiling at me and bade goodbye to... Read More

Chanakya Nitishastra - Chapter Four

1. Person’s lifespan, occupation, wealth, education and the death time are determined while one is in the womb.

2. Children, acquaintances, and relatives try to remain at a distance from a devotee of the Lord: yet those who follow him bring value to their families through their devotion.

3. Fishes, tortoises, and birds bring up their children or younger once by means of sight, attention and touch similarly saintly men protect their acquaintances.

4. When your body is healthy, under control and death is far, try to save your soul because when death is near than you cannot do anything.

5. Learning is like a cow of desire that give output in all the seasons. It feeds you, like a mother feeds you on the journey of your life. Therefore, learning is a secret treasure.

6. One son accompanied with good qualities is far better than a hundred of them lacking those qualities. He can be compared to the moon that can take away the darkness whereas numerous stars cannot.

7. A son who died at the time of birth is better than a foolish son with a long life. The son who died at the time of the birth gives sadness for a time being while the foolish son is like a blazing fire that burn his parents in grief for the lifetime.

8. Dwelling in a small village without adequate living facilities, serving a person born in a low family, unhealthy food, a brooding wife, a stupid son, and a widowed daughter burns the body of the person without fire.

9. A cow that neither gives milk nor conceives is worthless; similarly a son who is neither learned nor a pure devotee of the Lord is insignificant.

10. When a man is filled with the sorrows of life, three things that are children, a wife, and the company of the lord's devotees can give him relief.

11. Kings speak once, knowledgeable people do not repeat what they said once, and the daughter is given in marriage once. All these happen once.

12. One should practice ascetic practices alone, study in the company of two, and singing in the company of three. A journey should be undertaken in the company of four, agriculture in the company of five, and war should be fought by accompanying many people.

13. She is a true wife who is pure, clean, expert, truthful, & pleasing to the husband.

14. The house without a child is void, all the directions are void for the person who has no relatives, fool’s heart is also void, but for a poor person all the above is void.

15. If scriptural lessons are not being practiced than they are like a poison; a food is poison for the person who suffers from indigestion; a social gathering is a poison for a poor person; and an aged man whose wife is younger to him is poison for him.

16. That man who is without mercy and a religion should be discarded. A teacher without spiritual knowledge should be rejected. The wife with an unpleasant face should be given up, and so should relatives who are without affection.... Read More

German professor's denied the admission to Indian boy for Intership

A professor in Germany has denied the admission to the Indian boy by stating the reason that She could not allow the boy from the country where there is a lot of rape problem. She had many female students in her university, so she could not support him.

These remarks ignited an uproar in India after she refused an internship to a male Indian student, citing the reason of  "rape culture" in India. The letter went viral on social media with students condemning the act. Later, the professor apologised.

Now in my point of view, though professor did totally wrong by labelling male community as rapist and presented her myopic view. It can lead to the adverse reactions for other host nations where Indian students went for pursuing their career opportunities.

Although the professor's decision is unjustified but she reserve the right to deny any student.
Whole incident give the message for India that the rape problem must be addressed as soon as possible.
Just uproaring on the issue will not solve the problem. We have to accept the problem and try to change our mindset to change the mindset of others for India.

In India many men are psychopath, they rape and doesn't have iota of respect or love for women.
The reason lies is in the traditional patriarchal culture. Where Mothers generally question girls why she was late but rarely ask her son that why he was late. There is need to give moral values to the their son.

The grandparents are still not happy with a granddaughter, they still need a son for carrying the name of their family forward. Here also there is a need to change the mindset that boys and girls both are equal. Girls can also bring laurels for the family and we have seen many instances, no need to mention about it... According to one of rapist accused in gang-rape case, that the girl was responsible for the rape as she was boarding the bus late in the night. After that if she was raped she should not raise the alarm. If she quietly accepted the rape, they would not assaulted her.

He further said that girls are more responsible for the rape than the boys. Girls are there only for housework and housekeeping, not roaming in discos and bars at night doing wrong things, wearing wrong clothes.

Six Steps to beat the addiction

Addiction is the repeating the same thing or the activity again & again to the level that one becomes habitual. The addiction can be of anything such as drugs, alcohol, T.V., mobile games, using social networking sites & apps, music, eating sweets or any other types of addiction.

1) Self Talk

Talk to yourself that whether this addiction can help to give an answer to your depression, anxiety, pain & stress. Preferably you can sit & write down the following points:

•  Poor Life state
•  Deterioration of health
•  The embarrassment caused by addiction
•  Bad effect on your relationship

2) Use substitute for the addiction

You can use a substitute for the addicted thing or activity; you want to divert your mind. Remember the alternative you are planning to use is not leading towards another addiction. For example, one boy was a chain smoker; he substituted smoking with the green tea. Whenever he felt the craving for smoking, he took green tea instead of cigarettes. Similarly, you can also think of some alternative to giving a breakaway to addiction.

3) Make changes in your daily routine

You have to make the changes in the daily routine. For example, start exercising and if possible take out some time to play with children or play any instrument. Make sure that your surrounding people are not disturbed by it... Read More

Chanakya – Chapter Three

1. In this world, is there any family who is without any blame? Is there anyone who is without any sickness and grief? Is there anyone who remain happy always?

2. A man's background may recognize by his conduct, his country by the way he speaks his language, his friendship by his affection and glow, and his ability to eat by his body.

3. Marry your daughter in a good family, encourage your son in learning, take care of your enemy when in grief, and connect your friends towards divinity.

4. Of a scoundrel and a snake, the snake is the better of the two, for he only strike at the time he decide to kill, while the former at every step.

5. Kings must gather with counsellors of good families, as they never leave them either at the start, the middle or the end.

6. At the time of the universal destruction, the oceans exceed their limits and seek to change, but a holy man never changes.

7. If one keeps company with a fool, he can realize that he is with a two-legged beast. He pierces the heart with his sharp words that can be compared as unseen thorn.

8. No matter man is born in a noble family and has youth and beauty, yet without education, he is like the palas flower, which does not have a sweet scent.

9. The attraction of a cuckoo is her notes, that of a woman in her undiluted loyalty to her husband, that of an unattractive person in his scholarship, and that of an austere in his forgiveness.

10. Sacrifice a member to save your family, a family to save your village, a village to save your country, and the country to save yourself.

11. There is no poverty for the hard-working. Sin does not append to the person who chant the holy names of the Almighty. Those who are absorbed in meditation have no quarrel with others. Who always remain alert are fearless.

12.-13.
There is no article heavy for the strong and no place is distant for those who lay effort. There is no country remain foreign to a man who believe in true learning. No one can oppose who speaks pleasingly.

14. A family becomes famous by the birth of a virtuous son, as a whole forest becomes fragrant by the existence of a single tree with sweet-smelling blossoms in it.

15. As a single withered tree, if burned, causes a whole forest to burn, so does a scoundrel son defames a whole family... Read More

India is unfortunate that  it is being governed by corrupt politicians charged with scams and scandals.  There is need of transparency in the governance. For that, First time, Adv. Amartya Sen is the Nobel Laureate and Chancellor of Nalanda University.

On Friday, 21st February, Amartya Sen had written the letter that he would not seek another tenure.
In that letter, he had mentioned that the reason behind the denial for seeking another tenure is as follows:

Central Government had not sent their assent to reappoint him for the next term even after the gap of one month of the Governing Board’s unanimous choice. He had the inclination that the he has been the critics of Modi and that is the probable reason that President Pranab Mukherjee has not given his accent for seeking him for the next term.

According to Congress spokesperson Ajoy Kumar, Prof. Sen is considered as “national treasure” but, unfortunately, the government had treated him shabbily.

Government has done wrong by mingling political issue with education. They have delayed in giving accent for his candidature. This delay, as well as the uncertainty involved, is leading, in effect, to a decisional gap, which is not helpful to Nalanda University's governance and its academic progress. Amartya Sen had thus in the interest of the university taken away his name from being considered for continuing as chancellor beyond this July... Read More

SAY NO TO EXAMINATION STRESS

I want to share my point of view by writing to you all on examination stress and the methods to cope up. Recently you must have watched the news regarding Delhi elections. Arvind Kejriwal was seen relaxing, watching movie before the declaration of results as at that stage worrying  won't change the outcome of the results. It is thus advisable that you will not gain anything getting tensed or worrying about the results, but it is definite that continuous worry will definitely land you up with health problems that I am discussing subsequently.

What is examination stress?

Stress can be defined as 'the adverse reaction people have to excessive pressure or other types of demand placed on them'. It is a subjective response and something that will vary from person to person. Prolonged stress can lead to illness, both mental and physical. So one has to guard against developing stress.
The words pressure and stress are often used interchangeably but in fact they are quite different. Pressure can be positive and useful to study hard, compete with others with an aim to pass the exams and get good marks. However, when pressure is prolonged, it can be negative, and depending on how the individual perceives, and reacts to it, can lead to the development of stress. So in simple terms some amount of pressure before the exams are a normal phenomenon but we should not develop features of stress and approach for help from parents, teachers and friends in case symptoms of stress develop.

What causes examination stress?

Exam stress is a reaction to too much pressure caused by a number of factors, including:

• Inability to accept failure.
• Uncertainty with respect to outcome of the result.
• Whether I will pass?
• What will happen if I don’t get good marks?
• Pessimism or negative self-talk.
• Unrealistic expectations (either of the student or the parents). Like to get 100 percent in all subjects.
• Unpreparedness.
• Life transitions.
• Family issues.
• Financial problems.

What are the known impacts?

When a person is stressed over something, their body reacts accordingly. If adequate support is not provided to a child experiencing chronic exam stress, it might become a long-term issue that can lead to various physical health problems... Read More

Will AAP Party able to fulfil their promises?

There is around 67% voter turnaround in Delhi. AAP party secure 67 of the 70 seats in the Delhi assembly elections, halting the Modi juggernaut in its tracks.

Delhi voters gave chance to Arvind Kejriwal and his party members for their 70 promises given in their manifesto given below:

Aam Aadmi Party will form a government that is transparent, participative and interactive in order to deliver this 70-point action plan:

1.Delhi Janlokpal Bill:Aam Aadmi Party resolves to legislate the Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill after coming to power. This will ensure a time-bound investigation in matters of corruption. The Delhi Lokpal will have the power to initiate investigations and prosecution against those charged with corruption. A Citizens’ Charter shall be introduced in all government offices in Delhi. Whistleblowers will be provided protection and awarded for their contribution toward creating a just system.

2.Swaraj Bill: Aam Aadmi Party will legislate the Swaraj Act to devolve power directly to the people. Decisions affecting the local community will be taken by citizens and implemented by their Secretariat. A Citizen Local Area Development (C-LAD) Fund will be given to every Mohalla Sabha and Resident Welfare Association, ensuring funds and functions in the hands of the community.

3.Full Statehood for Delhi: Acting within the constitutional framework our government will use its moral and political authority to push for full statehood for Delhi. This will ensure that institutions such as the DDA, MCD and Delhi Police will be accountable to the elected government of Delhi. This way land will be made available for the common man, there will be greater synchronization and shared purpose among civic services with regard to service delivery and the law and order machinery will be accountable to the citizens.

4.Electricity Bills to be reduced by half: An Aam Aadmi Party government will keep its promise of reducing electricity bills by half. A more efficient, transparent and accountable system to regulate and audit the power generation and distribution companies is the need of the hour and AAP will do everything within its command to achieve that. Discoms should purchase power from economical sources and wriggle out of expensive and unsustainable Power Purchase Agreements. AAP will take measures to provide relief from rising power bills, namely generating cheaper electricity, improving transmission efficiency, fixing billing defects and correcting meter defects.

5.CAG Audit of Power Discoms:We will conduct a comprehensive performance audit of discoms by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. Discoms shall also be brought within the ambit of the RTI act. We will ensure that the citizens of Delhi do not have to bear the burden of soaring power tariffs. Initially we will provide subsidy that would go not to the power discoms but to Delhi Transco, a state-owned transmission company which has unpaid bills of Rs 3,500 crore to be paid by the discoms. This money will help Delhi Transco upgrade and augment its transmission capacity, which is in a bad state at present. The lack of funds at Transco’s disposal is one of the main reasons for the frequent power outages in the state. After the audit results are tabled in the assembly, power tariffs will be restructured.

6.Delhi’s Own Power Station: We will put up Delhi’s own power station at the pithead and comprehensively solve Delhi’s electricity problem in the long run by being able to meet peak power consumption of 6200MW. We will also ensure that the Rajghat and Bawana plant are efficiently utilized.

7.Introduce Competition Amongst Discoms: AAP reiterates the promise made in its December 2013 Delhi manifesto of providing consumers the right to choose between electricity providers. We will introduce competitive distribution, which will provide better services and lead to lower tariffs.

8.Delhi To Be Made A Solar City: AAP will facilitate a phased shift to renewable and alternate sources of energy. Incentives will be given to households, housing societies, enterprise and industry to gradually switch over to renewable energy. We are committed to ensuring that 20 percent of Delhi’s energy needs are met through solar energy by 2025.

9.Water As A Right:AAP will provide Water as a Right. It will provide universal access to clean drinking water to all citizens of Delhi at an affordable price. The Delhi Jal Board Act will be amended to make clean drinking water a right of the people. AAP will make a time bound plan of action for covering all residents of Delhi with piped water and sewage network in all parts irrespective of their legal status. There will be no discrimination between planned/non-planned; authorized/ non-authorized; regularized/ non-regularized; city or village. Within five years piped water connections will be made available to as many as 14 lakh households (50 lakh people) in Delhi that do not have a piped water connection at present.

10.Free Lifeline Water: AAP will ensure free lifeline water of up to 20 kiloliters (20,000 liters) to every household per month through a Delhi Jal Board’s (DJB) metered water connection. This scheme will be extended to group-housing societies.

11.Fair and Transparent Water Pricing: AAP will provide universal access to potable water to all its citizens of Delhi at a sustainable and affordable price. The mandatory annual 10 percent hike in water tariffs will be abolished and any further hike will be made only after due consideration. The AAP government will abolish the C-1A (B) category to provide relief to households that run small shops from their residence (less than 100 square feet) for their livelihood for which they are charge commercial rates in spite of the fact that they are not using water for commercial purposes.

12.Water From Munak Canal: AAP will ensure the firm implementation of the High Court order that says Delhi is entitled to extra raw water from Haryana in the Munak canal, an issue on which the BJP government in Haryana and at the Centre have been dithering.

13.Augmenting Water Resources:Our government will preserve and replenish local and decentralized water resources, will initiate schemes for rainwater harvesting, recharge of wells, watershed development and soil-water conservation. AAP will revive Delhi’s water bodies like lakes, ponds and baolis, among others, by rainwater recharging and maintaining them in partnership with Mohalla Sabhas.

14.Crackdown On Water Mafia: AAP is committed to clamping down on Delhi’s powerful water mafia working under the patronage of political leaders. AAP will put in place a transparent tanker water distribution system by implementing

state-of-the-art techniques. The schedule of tankers operating in different localities would be made available online and on mobile phone. Private tankers will be allowed to operate under the guidelines framed by our government. This will protect the consumers from exorbitant pricing and illegal practices of private tanker operators.

15.Revive The Yamuna: The Yamuna River has been part of the collective memory of Delhi for a long time but this lifeline is dying. We will ensure 100 percent collection and treatment of Delhi’s sewage through an extensive sewer network and construction of new functional sewage treatment plants. Discharge of untreated water and industrial effluents into the river Yamuna will be strictly prohibited.

16.Promote Rainwater Harvesting: The AAP government will throw its weight behind rainwater harvesting and strongly push it in a top-down manner. Families that adopt rainwater harvesting shall be termed water- friendly families. The government will provide incentives to families who do so.

17.Build 2,00,000 Public Toilets: AAP will build two lakh toilets across Delhi: about 1.5 lakh toilets in slums and JJ clusters and 50,000 toilets in public spaces, of which 1 lakh toilets will be for women. These toilets will be concentrated in public spaces and slum areas. We will construct eco-toilets to save water.

18.Better Waste Management: AAP will adopt and encourage the use of good practices in waste management techniques from across the world. We will encourage recycling by segregation of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste at the household level. Littering or disposal of construction debris in public places will attract a heavy fine. We will enforce the ban on plastic bags in the city.

19.Five Hundred New Government Schools: AAP will build 500 new schools with a special focus on secondary and senior secondary schools to ensure that every Delhi child has easy access to quality education.

20.Higher Education Guarantee Scheme: Students who wish to pursue any diploma or degree course after finishing Class 12 from any school in Delhi will be given bank loans with the government standing as a guarantor. Students will not be required to furnish any collateral and the scheme will be universal in nature regardless of a student’s financial background. The loan will cover both tuition fees and living expenses. The loan repayment schedule will carry a moratorium period covering the years required to finish the course and one year thereafter to find a job. Under this scheme no loan request will be rejected.

21.Twenty New Degree Colleges: AAP will open 20 new colleges under Delhi administration on the outskirts of the city in partnership with the villages of Delhi. Further we will double the existing seat capacity of the Delhi government administered colleges including Delhi’s flagship university, the Ambedkar University.

22.Regulate Private School Fees: We will regulate private school fees by publishing the fee structures and accounts online. Capitation fee will be abolished.

23.Transparency in Schools Admissions: AAP will bring in complete transparency in Nursery and KG admissions. To streamline the admission process, we will use a centralized online system for nursery admissions, removing avenues for corruption.

24.Ramp Up Government Schools to Provide Quality Education: AAP is committed to improving the standard of government schools so that all citizens of Delhi have access to high quality of education. Every school will have sufficient functional toilets built, especially for girls. A sufficient budget will be given at the discretion of the principal for lights, fans, blackboards and other essential infrastructure. Teaching and learning infrastructure including computers and high-speed Internet connectivity will be made fully functional in every school. Number of DTC buses will be increased in order to service private schools so that it cuts down on the wait times at regular DTC bus stops. Seventeen thousand new teachers will be hired to maintain full staff strength at government schools.

25.Increased Spending on Education and Healthcare: Education and Health will be AAP’s top priority. The total budgetary allocation will be increased accordingly.

26.Expand Healthcare Infrastructure: We will create 900 new Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and 30,000 more beds in Delhi hospitals, out of which 4,000 will be in maternity wards. We will ensure that Delhi conforms to the international norm of five beds for every 1000 people.

27.Quality Drugs For All At Affordable Price: Pharmaceutical drug and equipment procurement will be centralized to ensure zero corruption. Generic, affordable and high quality drugs will be made available to the public.

28.Adequate Street Lighting: Seventy percent of Delhi’s streetlights do not work. Unlit streets become scenes of crimes particularly against women. AAP will ensure a100 percent lighting of streets across the city so that no miscreant or anti-social activity goes unnoticed.

29.Effective Last Mile Connectivity: AAP will provide effective last mile connectivity in Delhi’s public transit system, which will play a role in reducing the number of crimes against women. An effective combination of shared autos, metro feeder services and e-rickshaws will be used to provide efficient last mile connectivity by fixing and delimiting routes. This will be synced with metro and bus timings so that there is a working connection to each neighborhood from nodal points.

30.CCTVs in Public Spaces and Buses: AAP plans to install CCTV cameras in DTC buses, bus stands and in crowded places as a deterrent against crime. AAP will ensure that women can go about their jobs in the city free of stress while travelling by public transport.

31.Speedy Justice through 47 Fast-Track Courts: AAP will strongly push for the creation and completion of fast-track courts, which are dedicated to handling cases of sexual assault and other crimes against women. AAP will operationalize 47 new courts that it had commissioned in January 2014 to ensure speedy justice.
