CHANAKYA NITISHASTRA – CHAPTER ELEVEN

1. Pleasing behavior, kindness, politeness and bravery are the inbuilt moral qualities and cannot be acquired.

2. The person who leaves his own society and join another one parish in a same way as the king who chose an unethical path.

3.The goad controlled the elephant even though goad was not as large as elephant similarly lighted candle can help in overcoming the darkness, but the candle is small with respect to the darkness. The Thunderbolt can break a big mountain. From all such cases, we can conclude power matters more than the size.

4. The person who is drenched in the family life can never obtain knowledge; the non-vegetarian person does not have mercy; the greedy man will not be honest; women or a hunter will not be ever found pure.

5. The clever person will not attain the holiness, even if he is taught in many ways same as Neem tree will never become sweet even if the whole tree is sprinkled with milk & ghee.

6. Dirt that is deposited in the mind cannot be washed even by taking the bath hundred times in the sacred water. It is same as wine pot that cannot be purified even by evaporating all the wine by the fire.

7. It is not surprising that the person does not show any gratefulness for which he has no knowledge same as wild hunter’s wife throws the pearl that she found at the head of the elephant and instead picked up rural seed as her ornament.

8. The people who eat their meal silently for one year than that can attain to the planets for ten millions of years.

9.  The student should completely renounce their lust, greed, anger, beautification, excessive sleep or excessive efforts to maintain the body.

10. The person is true Brahman, who takes one meal daily and six purification acts such as garbhadhana and who have a sexual relationship once in a month.
